This is one of the few movies I’ve actually liked better than the book.  I thought the book was good and descriptive, however the ending was just plain silly.  The movie changes around the characters a bit (I don’t really know why they turned the Priest into the Count, but it worked well enough).  Johnny Depp wasn’t in the movie nearly enough.  Juliette Binoche did an EXCELLENT job bringing Vianne to the big screen.  Spot on.
