We just got back into town last night after thirteen and a half hours driving and of course the first thing I did was plunk down on the couch to watch last week’s episode of Lost. I’m terribly excited to have a new episode to watch tonight! Here’s just a few notes on my thoughts about last week’s ep. Spoilers ahead, so do not continue if you haven’t watched this episode!
Well, this one didn’t really do anything to further the island’s storyline and I find I’m barely interested in those types of episodes. Ana-Lucia did not gain any sympathy from me at all. It’s sad she lost her child, but she’s an effing COP! If she wanted to be safe while she was pregnant she would have asked for a desk job during that time. She made the dumb ass mistake of letting a full grown adult man reach into his clothes to show her his “ID”. It’s an unfortunate turn of events that she lost her baby, but she can only blame herself. The guy did not deserve to be gunned down like that.
Needless to say, I couldn’t stand the entirety of Ana-Lucia’s flashbacks. I have absolutely no interest in her life. What mysteries are they going to delve into with her future flashbacks? Her failed marriage? Sounds sooooo interesting. Not. Blah. She’s going to ruin this show. Bring it down in a big heaping ball of flames. Keep Mister Eko, Bernard and Lilly. Make Ana-Lucia kill herself or fall off a cliff or get eaten by the monster or something, but don’t give her any more storylines!
The non-flashback aspects of the episode, I liked. The montage at the end was tear-jerking. Rose and Bernard looked at each other like they were coming home again. Jin and Sun’s reunion was so personal, so sensual, I think it was my favorite. Even Michael and Vincent’s reunion pulled my heartstrings, although I don’t know how Vincent got back to camp so quickly and easily, but whatever.
Tonight’s episode is supposed to let us know what Kate’s deal is. I don’t really care for her character much more than Ana-Lucia’s, but at least her flashbacks are a tad more interesting. Maybe Sawyer will wake up and start down the road of recovery tonight. He hasn’t had a speaking line in like, three episodes!
I’m with you on the AL thing. I can’t stand her and I don’t feel any sympathy at all for her. If the producers keep her around much longer (especially with such a prominent part), I’ll have to seriously reconsider my love of this show.
I don’t like Kate much, either, but at least she has a sweet side. Plus, she’s easy on the eyes. AL’s new teeth bug the crap out of me. If you look at her in the first season (when she meets Jack in the airport), she looks so normal and cute, with slightly crooked teeth. Now she has this deadly set of capped teeth and they just freak me out. Yea, I know I’m weird.
You know - the more I watch, the more I kind of begin to like Ana-Lucia. I mean she’s human and fallible.
I’m learing from falling, Ii’m learning from falling down. Hard, lessons.
I did hear on a podcast that Michelle Rodriguez said she didn’t want to be the bitch again. So the producers apparently told her she wouldn’t just that they needed to set her character up a bit so we’ll be seeing a much nicer Ana Lucia.
